This item is a sling used to throw a projectile such as a stone. Hearders throughout the world used this device to protect their flocks. This sling was made in the 1990s. It was collected by Ben Ruhe, a well known world traveller who previously worked at the Smithsonian Institution. The pouch is solid and diamond shaped. It is made out of bi-colored wool which has the musk odor of the Yak. This sling has unusual leads. There is a large finger loopattached to a bicolored brided lead. The other end has a leather cord tied to a narrow braid with a tuft which was added to quiet the release. This sling is well made and strong enough to use. It is in great condition. A very nice contemporary artifact.

Length = 155 cm ; Weight = 47 gm
