This beautiful lithic reproduction of a corner notch spear point with elegant parallel flaking was made by Virgil Tonn, a rancher from Georgetown, just north of Austin, Texas. The material is Florida Palm Fossil. Virgil achieves the beautiful flake patterns by grinding down a blank to a perfect configuration and then he flakes it. This grinding technique was perfected by the ancient Egyptians, but not by Native Americans. Length = 65 mm ; Weight = 4.8 gm
