This item was made by an Aborigine in Queensland approximately 25 years ago. The material is made out of Beanwood which is a favorite material of Aboriginal craftsmen. It is painted with traditional Aboriginal art, but contemporary paint s are used, rather than the traditional natural earth ochre pigments. This is still a fine sheild for display purposes and it is in excellent condition and without damage. Length = 54 cm. Weight = 1228 gm.
