This item is a sling used to throw a projectile such as a stone. Hearders throughout the world use this device to protect their flocks. This sling was made in the 1990s. It was collected by Ben Ruhe, a well known traveller who previously worked at the Smithsonian Institution. The pouch is solid and diamond shaped. It is made out of bi-colored wool which has the musk odor of the Yak. This sling has a hole big enough for the insertion of up to 3 fingers and a narrow tuft to quiet the release is tied to the end without a finger loop. This sling is well made and strong enough to use. It is in new condition. A very nice contemporary artifact.

Length = 133 cm ; Weight = 82 gm
