This item is a sling used to throw a projectile such as a stone. Hearders throughout the world used this device to protect their flocks. This sling was made in the 1990s or earlier. It was collected by Ben Ruhe, a well known world traveller who previously worked at the Smithsonian Institution. The pouch is solid and diamond shaped. It is made out of tri-colored wool which has the pungent odor of the Yak. This sling has red dyed wool integrated into the pouch. There is a large finger loop on one end. The other end has a very nice ultra-light braid which was added to quiet the release. This sling is very well made and strong enough to use. It is in great condition. A very nice contemporary artifact.

Length = 170 cm ; Weight = 42 gm
