This hardwood carving of a snake or serpent was made by Aborigines from Central Australia in the middle of the 20th Century. This item is longer and thinner than most of the Aboriginal totemic carvings. The head has eye spots and the body has dark bands and dots along the entire length. The body undulates along the entire length and it is without any major defects. The wood has the color and density of Mulga, which is a common hardwood used to make these animal totem carvings. Span = 69 cm Weight = 108 gm
