Boleadoras from Argentina with Ivory Balls and Silver/Gold End Caps

This bola set was listed on eBay in 2004. It did not sell because the reserve price was not met. The description was as follows:

Solid Mammoth Ivory, Sterling Silver AND 14k gold Antique Gaucho Bolas (Boleadoreas de marfil y plata) custom made in Argentina. Braided rawhide attaches to all three ivory balls for felling swiftly moving wild caballos as well as for personal protection . VERY Fine cond, rich patina, these date late 19th to early 20th c. Features hand chased solid silver scenes (each bola different) of Gaucho life.

CONDITION:  Excellent. Rawhide does have and show some wear.

PROVENANCE: Private Texas collectors estate collection. These have been authenticated and guaranteed 100% authentic.

Very similar to set on permenent display at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Museum given to President Johnson by His Excellency Lieutenant General Juan Carlos Onganía, President of Argentine Nation, April 13, 1967.  Each bola is stamped by the maker to the silver. This is the most elaborate set we have ever seen anywhere, very rare and amazing set!
