Boomerang Video Beta Tape Archives
Price: $57 ; Availability: 1

This item is my personal master archives of boomerang videos, collected during the golden age of boomeranging during the 1980s and early 1990s. Many of these videos are the best copies currently available. The tapes are in the NTSC [USA] Beta format. If you do not have a Beta player, you can pay a low fee at a video transfer store to convert the video to VHS or DVD format. Click on this link to see a listing of all the videos on these three tapes. There are news, home films, movie clips, commercials, etc., all with a boomerang theme. Total time is 6+ hours. A small amount of duplication. Please see Pat Steigman's Youtube Video Archives which has some of these videos in lower resolution.

The source of these video clips was from Ben Ruhe and the original USBA archives before they were heat damaged because of storage in a garage in Phoenix and then lost. The video saved in Beta format is a higher quality than any tapes you may find in VHS format. I have dozens of hours and hundreds of dollars involved in gathering these master archa ives. The information has significant historical value for our sport. I am hoping that someone will pick these up and convert them to digital format and properly archive the material for future generations. If you want a Beta player so that you can edit the video, I have one that works and is in mint condition. YI paid $400 to have it refurbished a few years ago to convert family video into DVDs for my relatives. You can purchase my Beta player for $200 plus shipping or save on shipping and pick up the Beta machine at my home.
