The 1985 Tour du Boomerang was the first international
competition to involve more than 2 countries. It followed
the famous 1981 and 1984 Challenge Matches between the USA
and Australia. The 1985 event started with a World's Masters
Cup with 2 Australians, 4 Americans and 6 Europeans
competing in Paris. This event was followed by a lightning
tour of nine resorts by the 4 American throwers. The major
organizer, Vitesse, raised $130,000 for this highly
successful event. The four Americans were Eric Darnell, Chet
Snouffer, Barnaby Ruhe and Peter Ruhf. Ben Ruhe was the team
captain. You can read the details of this event in Many
