Doug DuFresne was one of America's best known boomerang
manufacturers in the 1980s and 1990s. Doug manufactured a
line of the highest quality boomerangs produced anywhere in
the world. This include numerous models made out of plywood
and strip lamination of Cherry and/or Ash. Everything was a
great flyer and the manufacturing tolerances were as tight
as you would see on automotive products. Doug stopped
producing boomerangs in the late 1990s and the price of the
boomerangs that he had made increased substantially. Doug
was also one of America's top throwers and a boomerang team
member in the earlier days of the American movement. Doug
was active in formulating the competition rules for the USBA
in the mid 1980s. This strip laminated omega boomerang was made out of Ash
wood strips with the center strips dyed orange and brown.
The Oregon Hat logo is burned into the upper surface of the
elbow. The under surface of the elbow has the Outback
Boomerangs ID burned into it. This boomerang is from the
Larry Ruhf collection. It is in mint condition. The flight
range is approximately 30-40 metres.
