Gundawarra is the brand name of a very high quality commercial boomerang manufactured in Wedderburn, Victoria,Australia. I think that the name of the manufacturer was Hamish Robb? The Boomerang Man sold Gundawarra boomerangs in the 1970s and 1980s. Most were made out of Coachwood which had a beautiful grain and came from the rain forests of Queensland. It has been illegal to harvest Coachwood for the past two decades, so older boomerangs made out of this hardwood are quite valuable. Most were decorated with very fine hot poker artwork depicting Australian animals. The model names of the Gundawarra boomerangs were often the same as the artwork depicted on the surface. Some of these boomerangs were painted in traditional ochre colors and stamped with a gold label on the back. All of these were very high quality products and most were very good flyers. I cherish the ones in my personal collection.

This is a medium size traditional boomerang made out of native Australian hardwoods, possibly Coachwood, and decorated with.incised animal art depicting 5 Australian animals on the upper surface. The lower surface has the Gundawarra logo burned into the elbow and "Narong", which is the model name. This boomerang has a flight range of 25 metres. Used, but in very good condition and a great collectable.
