Volker Behrens is a well known commercial manufacturer of sporting and competition boomerang products. Volker was also a competitor and member of the German International Boomerang Team and a pioneer in the development of long distance boomerangs with demonstrated throws of nearly 150 metres in the 1980s. Volker continues to make high performance boomerang products. This includes boomerangs made out of Aircraft Grade plywood, Paxolin, G12, Carbon Fibre, Lap Joint Hardwoods and Strip Laminated Hardwoods.

This boomerang is a strip laminated "U". It is laminated using thin veneers of Ebony, Mahogany, Teak and other exotic hardwoods. This boomerang was made for Brother Brian Thomas in December 1986. The underside has "Series 13 #3, handcrafted by Volker Behren, Germany, 12/86 for Brian Thomas". This boomerang is in excellent condition. I test threw it before listing it and it is a very good flyer with a circular flight of approximately 35 metres.
