Ces Burwell was a well known boom maker and throwers in the 1940s - 1970s. He was a friend of Frank Donnellan and their boomerang designs have some similar characteristics. Ces is also the father of Bob Burwell and Jack Burwell and the grandfather of Scott Burwell, all well known for their boomerang making and throwing skills.

This boomerang was probably made in the late 1960s or early 1970s. In the year 2000, it was decorated by Tony Butz with Australian labels, photos of the Janetzki Brothers, logos of the Boomerang Throwing Association (BTA) and the New South Wales (NSW) Boomerang Association. The underside has the Burwell logo and has the words "Many Happy Returns to B.T. from T.B. 27th August 2000" and "The Millenium N.S.W. Boomerang Boomerang Thorwing Association of New South Wales" written in gold lettering, certainly a special one of a kind boomerang that was a gift from Tony Butz to his friend Brian Thomas on a very collectable boomerang.
