Doubling Boomerangs

Doubling/Juggling Set by Larry Ruhf
Price: $26 /pair ; Availability: 1 RH set

This doubling/juggling set was made out of plywood in the early 1980s before tribladers became popular. Use them as either doublers or as a juggling set. Takes a hard throw as expected. You can also split them up and use them as sport booms or in the Accuracy event. Brightly colored and very good condition. Span = 32 cm ; weight = 124 gm (pair)

Neovollic Doubling Set by Neil Kalmanson
Price: $58 /pair ; Availability: 1 RH set

This doubling set was made out of Birch plywood. Similar in size and performance to plywood two bladed doublers of the mid 1980s, but with clever artistic shapes. The two boomerangs also interlock together like puzzle pieces and you can throw them individually as sport boomerangs. Some wear, but still in very good to excellent condition. Signed and dated 1986. A wonderful piece of artistic expression from the golden era in American boomeranging. Span = 41 cm ; weight = 174 gm (pair)

Artistic Doubling Set by Neil Kalmanson

A wonderful piece of artistic expression from the golden era in American boomeranging. Span = 34 cm ; weight = 126 gm (pair)

Blue*Star G12 Doubling Tri-bladers by Volker Behrens
Price: $115/pair ; Availability: 7 RH + 1 LH sets

These Doublers are an advanced set of competition boomerangs made out of G12 material. Brightly painted and heavier than the standard Paxolin model, these have better wind resistance and Volker claims that they are nearly unbreakable. The tri-blader with weights and 3 small holes in the hub flies higher and it comes down more quickly. The other tri-blader stays in the air several seconds longer allowing you to catch both with plenty of time to spare. Span = 26 cm ; weight = 104 gm

Matched Set of Doublers

1986

Left Handed
Günter Möller's "Space Doublers"
Price: $55/pair ; Availability: 2 LH Sets

This is a pair of tri-bladers used in the doubling event. Made out of 2mm phenolic paper (PERTINAX). For advanced throwers only. Instructions are included. This model requires a harder throw than most doubling sets, but it has better wind resistance as well. Flight distance (weighted) = 24-26 and 27-30m. Thrown at the same time, they separate and return on different flight paths to the thrower. This enables the thrower to catch the Inner Space first and the Outer Space second. This is the technology that Gunter uses when he competes in World Cups! Tip-to-tip Span = 25 cm ; Weight = 84 gm (pair)

Mark Legg's " Nefertiti Doubling Set Trio "
Price: $60 ; Availability: 1 LH set

This trio of tribladers is exactly what you need in your competition kit for the Doubling event. Made out of 2.4 mm linen phenolic, weighted and drilled with holes and painted bright colors for high visibility, this set is ideal for low to moderate wind conditions. Use the two narrow hub tribladers for most of your catches. Use the "fat hub" model to make your foot catches. Tip-to-tip Span = 25 cm ; Weight = 130 gm (trio)

Volker Behrens' Blue*Star Doubling Tri-bladers
Price: $64/pair ; Availability: 1 LH set

This is exactly what you need to compete in the popular Doubling event. The tri-blader with a hole in the middle flies high and comes down quickly. The other tri-blader stays in the air about 5 seconds longer allowing you to catch both with plenty of time to spare. These booms are brightly painted and made out of 2 mm Paxolin. Span = 26 cm ; weight = 70 gm
