Long Distance Boomerangs (80+ -> Metres)

Long Distance Lefty Hook #1 by Ted Bailey
Price: $82 ; Availability: 1 LH

 This long distance lefty hook was made by Ted Bailey for his own use in competition in 1989 out of an expensive composite Aerospace material that was obtained from Doug DuFresne. Works great and is very tunable for adjusting flight range. Twist blades lightly in the direction to add angle of attack and this will reduce the range down to 60 metres. Twist blades the other direction and extend the flight range out beyond 100 metres. Easy to throw, but it does require an adult level of power for a full return.
Span = 37 cm ; Weight = 91 gm ; Range = 60-120 metres ; Age = 18+ ; Power = 8+/10 ; Difficulty = 6/10

Long Distance Lefty Hook #2 by Ted Bailey

 This long distance lefty hook was made by Ted Bailey for his own use in competition in 1989 out of an expensive composite Aerospace material that was obtained from Doug DuFresne. Twist blades the other direction and extend the flight range out beyond 100 metres. Easy to throw, but it does require an adult level of power for a full return.

Fast Catch Boomerangs

Wind Breaker by Georgi Dimantchev
Price: $30 ; Availability: 2 LH

"Wind Breaker" was made out of a Darnell ABS triFly. This model has a circular level flight and it works best in winds of 4-5 metres. There is a hole in the hub and tear drop holes with 4 added weights in each blade. This is a good model to use in higher wind conditions in the Fast Catch or Endurance event. For advanced throwers only! It is recommended that you cover up the holes with tape and then selectively remove tape to tune this boomerang for your throwing style and wind conditions.
Span = 26 cm ; Weight = 45 gm ; Range = 24-28 metres ; Age = 17+ ; Power = 8/10 ; Difficulty = 9/10

MTA Boomerangs
Günter Möller's Gracht MTA
Price: $30 ; Availability: 6 LH

 The Gracht MTA is a less expensive Birch Plywood option to the more popular and expensive Paxolin and Composite MTAs. However, I still prefer to use Birch models when I throw this event. Wood MTAs require a little more tuning skills, but if you know what you are doing (instructions included) you will be rewarded for your efforts. Tip-to-tip Span = 37 cm ; Weight = 32 gm

Günter Möller's Indian Ocean MTA
Price: $40 ; Availability: 2 LH

 This Paxolin model is one of the most famous Maximum Tme Aloft (MTA) boomerangs in the world. This MTA plays a role in Tom Clancy's Net Force novels. It is truely a high performance model in the real world. This is the technology that Günter uses when he competes in World Cups! Tip-to-tip Span = 34 cm ; Weight = 30 gm
