Uwe Hartfiel's Lufti MTA
Price: $12 ; Availability: 2 RH

This medium/large MTA was made out of 3 mm Baltic Birch plywood in the 1980s by a close friend of Wilhelm Bretfeld (the originator of the MTA). Has a lead weight in the lift arm tip. It might need some fine tuning for your throwing style. Tip-to-tip Span = 45 cm ; Weight = 48 gm

Winfried Gorny's Spindoctor MTA
Price: $14 ; Availability: 2 RH

This medium size MTA was made out of 3 mm Baltic Birch plywood. Brightly painted on both upper and lower surfaces. Very forgiving for an MTA, but not for power throwers. It might need some fine tuning for your throwing style. Tip-to-tip Span = 37 cm ; Weight = 25-28 gm

Winfried Gorny and Jörg Schlegel's Condor MTA
Price: $15 ; Availability: 1 RH

This medium size MTA was made out of 3 mm Baltic Birch plywood in the 1980s. Painted on both upper and lower surfaces. Popular MTA in Europe. It might need some fine tuning for your throwing style. Tip-to-tip Span = 37 cm ; Weight = 27.4 gm

2 Early Small MTAs by Larry Ruhf ~ 1987
Price: $17 ; Availability: 1

This lot of 2 small MTAs are made out of thin plywood and a composite material similar to Paxolin. Both work, but require proper tuning for optimal flights. The Birch plywood MTA likes a lot of positive angle of attack. You won't set any world records with these, but they do work if you tune and throw them properly. Span = 31-33 cm ; Weight = 20-22 gm

2 Early Large MTAs by Larry Ruhf ~ 1984
Price: $20 ; Availability: 1

This lot of 2 large and early MTAs (pre-1985) is made out of thin plywood. The blue MTA has a lot of material removed from the trailing edge, providing a step mid span. Both MTAs are weighted. Similar to the Schummy/Bretfeld designs. These work if tuned or thrown properly, but you won't set any world records with them. Span = 52 cm ; Weight = 60 - 82 gm

Georgi Dimantchev's Tensor MTA
Price: $24 ; Availability: 4 RH

The "Tensor MTA" is a good, low cost MTA made out of 3.20 mm plywood. This model has a comma shaped flight path. Requires tuning for best performance. Span = 34 cm ; Weight = 24-25 gm

Günter Möller's Gracht MTA
Price: $30 ; Availability: 8 RH + 6 LH

The Gracht MTA is a less expensive Birch Plywood option to the more popular and expensive Paxolin and Composite MTAs. However, I still prefer to use Birch models when I throw this event. Wood MTAs require a little more tuning skills, but if you know what you are doing (instructions included) you will be rewarded for your efforts. Tip-to-tip Span = 37 cm ; Weight = 32 gm

Volker Behrens' Blue*Star Paxolin MTA
Price: $30 ; Availability: 7 RH

One of the easiest Paxolin MTA (maximum time aloft) boomerangs to throw. Brightly painted and pre-tuned. Comes with tuning and throwing instructions. An old favorite that does well in competition. Some of the paint may be flaked off in small areas on this lot as expected for Paxolin material. Span = 29 cm ; weight = 24 gm

4 Experimental MTAs by Larry Ruhf ~ 1983
Price: $30 ; Availability: 1

This lot of 4 large and very early experimental MTAs (pre-1985) is made out of thin plywood. One is a traditional shape, one is a reverse MTA and two are Schummy style MTAs. Three are weighted. You won't set any world records with these, but they do work if you tune them properly. Span = 47-59 cm ; Weight = 58-98 gm

Günter Möller's Indian Ocean MTA
Price: $40 ; Availability: 7 RH + 2 LH

This Paxolin model is one of the most famous Maximum Tme Aloft (MTA) boomerangs in the world. This MTA plays a role in Tom Clancy's Net Force novels. It is truly a high performance model in the real world. This is the technology that Günter uses when he competes in World Cups! Tip-to-tip Span = 34 cm ; Weight = 30 gm

Georgi Dimantchev's Composite Primer MTA
Price: $75 ; Availability: 2 RH

This high tech composite MTA is made out of a variety of materials and is optimized for long duration flights. Advanced features include built in tuning (dihedral & angle of attack) so you don't have to mess around with it during a tournament. This model has narrower airfoils and no camber. It climbs higher than the other MTAs and is wind resistant. Span = 34 cm ; Weight = 20-21 gm

Georgi Dimantchev's Composite Eventus MTA
Price: $85 ; Availability: 3 RH

This high tech composite MTA is made out of multiple materials. It is optimized for long duration flights. Advanced features include built in camber as well as tuning (dihedral & angle of attack) so that you don't have to mess around with tuning during a tournament. This model is very easy to throw compared with other composite MTA models and it flies great. Color may vary from what is shown. Span = 32 cm ; Weight = 19-23 gm

9 Early Large MTAs by Larry Ruhf ~ 1985
Price: $90 ; Availability: 1

These 9 early Ruhf MTAs are from Larry Ruhf's 1985 competition kit. The MTA had evolved into high efficiency one minute plus floaters during this era but most were still larger than what throwers use today. This lot contains two mini prototypes. All but 2 MTAs are weighted. Some are still perfectly tuned. Some need fine tuning, but all have excellent potential. A few of the MTAs have splintered edges, but no cracks or major damage. Span = 28-49 cm ; Weight = 14-50 gm

Georgi Dimantchev's Composite Gradus MTA
Price: $100 ; Availability: 4 RH

This high tech composite MTA is made out of a variety of materials and is optimized for long duration flights. Advanced features include camber and built in tuning (dihedral & angle of attack) so you don't have to mess around with it during a tournament. The sky is the limit with this model. Color may vary from what is shown. Span = 33 cm ; Weight = 20-23 gm

Georgi Dimantchev's Composite Sensor MTA
Price: $105 ; Availability: 6 RH

This high tech composite MTA is made out of a variety of materials and is optimized for long duration flights. Advanced features include camber and built in tuning (dihedral & angle of attack) so you don't have to mess around with tuning during a tournament. This model has a similar design to the Bailey Wind Sailor & Romblad MTA designs so you know it has tremendous potential. Span = 37 cm ; Weight = 24-28 gm

Georgi Dimantchev's Composite Trigger MTA
Price: $120 ; Availability: 4 RH

This high tech composite tri-blader MTA is the newest high tech MTA model that many of the top throwers use in international competition. This MTA is made out of a variety of materials and is optimized for long duration flights. Advanced features include built in tuning (dihedral & angle of attack) so you don't have to mess around with tuning during a tournament. Each Trigger has a different color than the unpainted example that is shown. Span = 30 cm ; Weight = 26-28 gm

Carbon Fibre MTA by David Schummy
Price: $122 ; Availability: 1 RH

This MTA made from vacuum bagged epoxy and carbon fiber is hollow inside. It comes pre-tuned, but it is easy to fine tune with a hair dryer. If it becomes over-tuned just hit it with a hair dryer again, and it will automatically return to it's original tuning! Excellent condition, a great performer in wind, and a beautiful example of David's carbon fiber alien technology. Span = 35 cm ; Weight = 28 gm
