As you progress down the list, you will find more advanced models that require more skill and/or throwing power. Mosquito Hook by Bill Glover

This large hook is an early Glover boomerang, made out of light weight lower grade plywood and with rough airfoiling, but it is very good flyer with a range of 40-45 metres. It likes a hard, low throw and some wind for best results. No damage. Made in 1999.

Yukon by Günter Möller

This omega style boomerang is made out of 5 mm birch plywood. It comes in a mod art finish similar to what is shown, but colors may be different. It has a range of 40-45 metres. Add a coin with tape to extend the range to 50 metres for the Aussie Round event.

Diabolino 2010 by Georgi Dimantchev

The "Diabolino 2010" is a boomerang designed for the Australian Round event. It requires a hard throw for best results. Likes almost any wind condition from light to strong, so it is ideal for use in competition. Has a flight range of 45-50 metres and a medium high circular flight.

The "Autograf" is another weighted boomerang that requires a hard throw in moderate winds for best results. Launch straight out low with 30+ degrees of layover and you will get a flight range of 45-65 metres. Great for an adult thrower who wants a good boom for the Aussie Round event.

Atlas by Georgi Dimantchev
Price: $28 ; Availability: 5 RH + 1 LH

The "Atlas" is made out of 4.5 mm Birch plywood. Weights are added in the middle of both arms to extend the range to 50+ metres. Holes are added in elbow for better wind resistance. Very accurate flight in 3-4 metre/sec winds. Relatively light and easy to throw for such a high performance boomerang, but young adult power is required. A proven design since 1992.

Weighted Fuzzy by Günter Möller

This classic Aussie Round design is made out of 4 mm birch plywood. There are two weight in each blade tip and a weight in the elbow, giving thi boomerang a range of approximately 50 metres. This boomerang comes in a mod art finish similar to what is shown, but colors may vary. Add a coin with tape to extend the range beyond 50 metres.

Baltic Breeze by Volker Behrens

This Hook is made out of 5 mm 10 ply Birch plywood. It has a lead weight inserted into both tips. The flight is circular. Some tuning and throwing skills may be required to optimize the flight for your throwing style and conditions. Add a coin with tape to the lift arm to gain more range. Best when used in low wind conditions. This one likes a straight out hard throw.

The SunWheel Omega (also called the Baltic Star) is made out of 5 mm 10 ply Birch plywood. It has a lead weight inserted into both blades. The flight is medium high and somewhat elliptical. The SunWheel Omega (also called the Baltic Star) is made out of 5 mm 10 ply Birch plywood. It has two lead weights inserted into the lift arm and a single lead weight in the dingle arm. Argus by Georgi Dimantchev

The "Argus" is a longer range sports boomerang for strong throwers. Made out of 4.2 mm Finnish Birch plywood. Has camber, weights and holes for optimized performance. It is best to throw in medium or strong winds. Launch straight out low with 30 degrees of layover and you will be rewarded with a low flight of 50-60+ metres. This boomerang stays low for most of the flight and is a good choice for Aussie Round in windy conditions.

Talisman by Georgi Dimantchev

The "Talisman" is a longer range boomerang made by the Bulgarian Aerodynamicist for use in the Aussie Round event. Made out of 5.0 mm Finnish Birch plywood. Has weights and holes for both added range and wind resistance. This boomerang has an elliptic, medium high flight with a range of 55+ metres. This boomerang was optimized for use in higher wind conditions (4-6 m/s).

Vitamin Hook by Georgi Dimantchev

The "Vitamin" was made for use by adult throwers in the Aussie Round event and for longer range sports boomerang throwing. Made out of 6.5 mm 12 ply Finnish Birch plywood. Has small holes in each blade tip for improved wind resistance. This boomerang has a circular, low to medium high flight with a range of 45+ metres.

Xenon Hook Weighted by Volker Behrens

This Sporty Hook is rather exciting, but it is also one of the more challenging of the hooks to throw. Made out of 5 mm Birch plywood, it has a low and very circular flight path. Tuning skills are needed to adjust this boomerang for your throwing style and conditions, so it is not for novice throwers. Add a coin with tape to the lift arm to gain more range or add a coin with tape to the dingle arm to reduce range. Best for experienced throwers with tuning skills.

Large Sussex Hook by David Schumm
Price: $75 ; Availability: 1 RH

This longer range sport hook was made out of 6 mm Birch plywood by an airline pilot who used to copy Herb Smith boomerangs in the 1970s and sell them through Ben Ruhe. This one is weighted and painted fire engine red on both sides, just like Herb Smith did on the original Sussex Hook. This one was test thrown and found to be a very good flyer with a range of 60-70 metres. It requires a very hard throw and likes some wind. New condition.

Blue*Star Bluebird by Volker Behrens

 The Bluebird is a replica of the popular Herb Smith traditional with the same name. The Bluebirds in stock are tuned for a range of about 40 metres, making them ideal for throwers who are not accustomed to throwing with Paxolin booms. The range can be extended up to 60 metres by adding a coin to the lift arm and by reducing dihedral on the lift arm.

Paxolin Wind Eater II by Volker Behrens

This wind resistant V-hook boomerang is made out of 3 mm Paxolin. It is one of the easiest Paxolin boomerangs to throw and catch. Experienced throwers can add a coin with tape to the lift arm and get an extra 5-10 metres of flight range. Requires light winds for a complete return.

Sussex Hook G12 by Volker Behrens

The Veebo has a maximum unweighted range of 60 metres, making it a good option for Australian Round. It is light weight and made out of 3 mm Paxolin material. A totally awesome boomerang, identical in performance to the Herb Smith Veebo. This model likes a hard straight out low throw with some layover for best results.

This light weight competition hook is made out of 3 mm Paxolin. It has excellent wind resistance, yet it also works well in calm, making it a terrific choice for Australian Round. Best for intermediate throwers with some tuning skills. This model likes a straight out low throw with 30-40 degrees of layover. This is one of my favorite Paxolin boomerangs!

G12 Wind Eater II by Volker Behrens

This Wind Eater boomerang is made out of stiff 2.5 mm G12 material. G12 is stiffer than Paxolin and it provides better range and wind resistance. The WE II G12 has more range than the WE III G12 and it takes more control and power. This model requires some wind for a complete return. There may be some paint flaking because paint does not adhere well to G12 material.

This boomerang is made out of 2.5 mm G12 material. It can handle lots of wind and it is very catchable. Best for advanced throwers who know how to add weights and tape for field tuning.. An advanced boomerang that really gets out far.

This model needs some wind for a full return. Requires both strength and tuning/throwing skills. It is best to add a coin with tape to the dingle arm near elbow.

This replica of the Classic Gerhards Hook was made by well known American craftsman, Bob Letson out of 10 ply Aircraft grade Birch plywood in 1988 for Ed Halderman. Signed and dated. No cracks or major damage, but the paint on tips has heavy wear from use. Very rare.
