Ted Bailey
After graduating from CHS, I attended Humboldt State College in Northern California, majoring in Oceanography. I worked on merchant ships during the summer months to help pay for tuition. After 3 years, I dropped out of college and travelled around for a year on freight trains, hitch hiking, etc. I then moved to Sacramento, California where I married my wife Pam and became an ambulance driver. I then enrolled part time at C.S.U. Sacramento and received my B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1976. I continued on with my education and obtained a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1977.

My first Engineering job was at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in West Palm Beach, Florida. My son Matt was born in 1977. My son Sam was born in 1980. I did a lot of surfing and fishing. I even caught a Florida State record Snook in 1979.

In 1982, I moved to Toledo, Ohio to take an Engineering position at Teledyne C.A.E. In 1989, I took a job with General Electric Aircraft Engines in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1991, I took a Supervisory position.at NTN Technical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I worked there for 11 years and then retired from Engineering when NTN closed the facility permanently.

In 2002, I started a new career as a part time teacher in math, science, Spanish, etc. at several private chools in Ann Arbor. I also market boomerangs and other flying toys on my website: flight-toys.com . I also do some Engineering consulting and other marketing activities which pays all the bills as I coast towards full retirement in 5-10 years.
