Graduated from University of
Florida in Gainesville in 1972 with a major in Banking and
Finance. Married Roxana Grimaldo from Colon in 1975, and
have two children. Jean-Paul, 25, is a dentist and is a
year away from completing required community service with
the Social Security Hospital in the Interior town of
Penonome, commuting home or to the beaches on weekends.
Plans to return to dental school to specialize in
reconstructive surgery. Marc Pierre, 21, is about to start
his Senior year at Syracuse University as a liberal arts
major. Recently completed a semester abroad program in
London. Still has no definitive plans as to what to study
in graduate school. Home for the summer, he has a weekend
gig at a local pub where he plays lead guitar for a
band.
Upon graduation, I worked first
for Citibank and then Bank Boston. Lived in the Boston area
(Newton and Marblehead) for the greater part of 1983
&endash; 1992. Returned to Panama to work for Banistmo, now
the largest bank in Panama and Central America, as its
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Also
serve on the board of banks in Costa Rica and Honduras.
Have been busy over the years with a number of mergers and
acquisitions.
In my spare time, I enjoy travel,
music, golf, deep sea fishing, and recently started a beach
house project near Rio Hato / Santa Clara. Roxana, who
worked as an administrative manager for a major law firm,
recently quit her job to attend to this project, which
should be completed in December.
