Yes, I became a nurse. I work in Spokane, Washington at Deaconess, one of the trauma centers in the eastern part of the state. I do trauma care in the Intensive Care Unit and am involved in a lot of community education activities. I completed my Master of Science in Nursing degree in 2003 and joined the administration team of the Intensive Care Unit at Deaconess as the Assistant Unit Manager. I am still involved in trauma prevention education and in 2000 became the first nurse in the state of Washington to win a Governor's Recognition Award for the program I represent called Trauma Nurses Talk Tough. I have three children: Mike and Samantha, the twins and Tim. I now have 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. I love being a grandparent. If I had known it was this much fun, I would have had the grandkids first. Mike, my oldest son, is an active duty Marine. Luckily, he is state-side at present. Samantha is busy raising her family and Tim is still single and enjoying it.

Big Mike and I moved the kids out here in '89 so we could be closer to my family and give the kids a better place to grow up. We live in the middle of wheat farmers and dairy farmers outside Spokane, in a small town called Deer Park. I love the quiet after Miami and the change of seasons. Don't care for the snow though.
