This license plate is from the Panama Canal Zone. It is number 1981 for the year 1947. This plate is in fair condition. Most of the original paint is missing and there is oxidation in areas, especially on the reverse as shown in the photos. There is also a crack near the mounting slot on the bottom right side and rough edges. Still, it is in better shape than most of the plates from this year that I have seen. This one is in original condition.

This plate would look great on your vehicle or mounted on the wall. I made no attempt to clean this plate. A rare plate from this former USA possession.
