Frido Frost is one of Germany's most talented boomerang makers and throwers. He has been world champion several times (including 2008) and he has held world records in events like Accuracy, where he was the first person to ever have a perfect round of 50 points in that event. Frido makes very few boomerangs, most of which are competition products. He has made a limited number of strip laminated beauties.

This small weighted strip laminated hook is one of Frido's best. The strips are exotic woods like Ebony and Mahogany. Each blade tip has a lead weight. This one is dated and signed and it has the words "Shape: Al Gerhards (USA) #36 6/91". I have a personal story about this boomerang. In 1990, Frido visited me when I was living in Cincinnati, Ohio. I showed him my collection of boomerangs and he was especially fond of a miniature strip laminated hook that Al Gerhards had made in the late 1970s. Al only made three prototypes of this mini and I had all 3 in my collection. I have never sold or traded anything out of my collection in 35 years with the exception of this single miniature Gerhards hook which I traded to Frido in exchange for one of his copies that is essentially identical to this one. My copy has a range of about 60 metres and it is a good flyer, but it can be hard to find on the ground because of it's dark coloration. This strip laminated hook is in very good condition, but it does have surface wear from use and a light scratch on the reverse side of the elbow that can be fixed by rubbing some polyurethane into the scratch.

Specifications: Span = 28 cm ; Weight = 36 gm
