This item is a collection of lithic artifacts, all field search finds along the Potomac River north of Washington, D.C. Most come from an Indian village site on the west bank right at Point of Rocks, the remainder from plowed fields on the Hubert Humphrey family farm nearby. A stone fish weir remains on plain view in the water besides the village. The collection has bone fragments, lithic flakes, two elegant smoothing stones and numerous points and tools of quartzite, quartz, chert, flint and a variety of other low grade stones in various conditions. There are a total of 60 individual pieces in this collection. Length = 1->7 cm ; Weight = 390 gm
