This beautiful lithic reproduction of a spear point with elegant parallel flaking was made by Virgil Tonn, a rancher from Georgetown, just north of Austin, Texas. The material is a lovely agate stone from eastern Brazil. Virgil achieves the beautiful flake patterns by grinding down a blank to a perfect configuration and then he flakes it. This grinding technique was perfected by the ancient Egyptians, but not by Native Americans. This is one of the best Tonn points I have ever seen. The photo does not do it justice. Length = 116 mm ; Weight = 20 gm
