This hunting boomerang ( throwstick ) is from Western Australia. It was most likely made in the latter half of the 19th Century. The wood is very dark and the surface has a fine patina. Both the upper and lower surfaces were shaped with an adze. This throwstick is in very good condition. There is no impact damage or edge chipping, but there is a natural knot in the wood and several age cracks that radiate from the edges. This is expected for a boomerang that is this old. This is one of the oldest boomerangs that I have sold on these web pages.

Length = 55 cm ; Weight = 216 gm
