Volker Behrens is a well known commercial manufacturer of sporting and competition boomerang products. Volker was also a competitor and member of the German International Boomerang Team. Volker was a pioneer in the development of long distance boomerangs and he had demonstrated throws of nearly 150 metres in the 1980s with his popular Challenger III Paxolin Hook. Volker continues to make high performance boomerang products. This includes boomerangs made out of Aircraft Grade plywood, Paxolin, G12, Carbon Fibre, Lap Joint Hardwoods and Strip Laminated Hardwoods.

This boomerang is a strip laminated copy of the famous Al Gerhards White Lightning, made out of Red Oak. There are two weights in the left arm tip and a half weight in the dingle arm tip. The underside is signed and with the words " Oak Laminated 2/4 " added. This hook is similar to the boomerang that Al Gerhards used to set his long distance world record throw of more than 125 metres in the early 1980s, but the cord with is narrower and the boomerang is less heavy. This boomerang is in excellent condition. It is not known if it is tuned for long distance throwing.
