This beautiful traditional boomerang is a lap joint made out of choice Redwood boards with a deep red color. The airfoiling is perfect and it is finely sanded and coated with high gloss Polyurethane. There is no damage, but the lap is not glued tightly. You can feel a small gap between the two pieces. I would recommend leaving it as is or give the area around the lap a fine sanding and then coat it with high gloss Polyurethane. I was able to test throw this boomerang and found that it takes a hard throw because it is heavy. It is a nice flyer with a 50+ metre low and circular flight. I threw it about 10 times and hit the ground a couple of times without breakage, but with the imperfections in the lap construction, I would not recommend doing a lot of throwing with this boomerang. It is gorgeous and in excellent condition, so it will display well. It is also from Al Gerhards personal collection. This boomerang is signed and dated 1978 and it has the word " Rosewood " printed on the underside.

Specifications: Right Handed ; Tip-to-tip Span = 47 cm ; Weight = 178 gm

I know nothing about J. A. Landale except that his boomerangs are finely crafted and they can be found in Al Gerhards' personal collection. They are dated in the 1970s.
