Michael Girvin (aka Gel) has been making and throwing boomerangs since the 1970s. In the 1980s, Gel founded a cult subculture within the boomerang community called Team Gel. Gel sponsored tournaments where ever he lived in California and Washington states and promoted boomerang throwing more than perhaps any other thrower in America through his efforts. His tournaments were a lot more fun than comps with the sterile USBA rated events. Gel also competed internationally on many USA boomerang teams. Team Gel still thrives and events are held on the West Coast on a regular basis.

This is a trio of original sports boomerangs made by Michael Girvin when he lived in the Bay Area of California. These are not contemporary reproductions made by Colorado Boomerangs. The models include: the Carlotta, a triblader with a range of 20 metres ; the Sunshine with a range of 25 metres and the Bellen with a range of 20 metres. All three of these are nicely painted and sealed in the original packaging. These are excellent sports boomerangs made by Gel, the originator of Rad boomerang throwing in the USA.
