This medium large sport boomerang is a hook made out of 6 mm 5 ply Birch plywood and painted with a raptor [Osprey?] head on the elbow. The tips have raptor feathers. The reverse side of the elbow has Rus Feuerbach's hand painted raptor logo. This one has a low circular flight with a range of 35 metres. Excellent condition. This boomerang was made circa 1990. A wonderful sport boomerang and collectible.

Rus Feuerbach made large quantities of quality sport boomerangs in the 1970s -> 1990s out of his home in Agawam, Massachusetts. Rus sold his boomerangs at craft shows or through retail outlets. The first time I met Rus, he had driven his boomerang van to the USBA Nationals at Georgetown University in 1983 and sold lots of boomerangs to the competitors. Rus' boomerangs almost always had a raptor art theme. Many of his booms had eagles or falcons painted on the elbow. One tip was usually painted white and the other was painted red. Lefty booms had the colors reversed to help Rus tell the difference when he sold quantities of booms at craft shows. Rus is currently retired and he splits his time between South Carolina and the Florida Keys. He doesn't make booms anymore and the booms that occasionally come to market are considered collectibles.
