This boomerang was made in the shape of the famous Gerhards hook by Günter Veit in 1978. It was made out of 5.7 mm 10 ply Baltic Birch plywood for Al Gerhards. Signed on the upper surface of the elbow. The lift arm tip is painted blue and the dingle arm tip is painted red. There is a full weight embedded in each blade tip. I have never thrown this boomerang, but it looks like it would have a flight range of 60+ metres. Everything that I have thrown that was made by Günter Veit was an exceptional flyer. This one looks to be in new condition. I do not think that Al threw it more than a couple of times, if that. A very fine and rare collectible.

Specifications: Right Handed ; Tip-to-tip Span = 40 cm ; Weight = 88 gm

Günter Veit is a lawyer in Germany who was very active in the formation of the German Boomerang Club in the 1970s and early 1980s. Günter also made very nice Birch plywood boomerangs and he wrote a book that helped promote boomerang throwing in Germany. Günter has not been active in the boomerang community for the past 2 decades, making his boomerangs very collectible.
