Ali Fujino was one of the earliest organizers of American boomerang events in the USA, working with Ben Ruhe at the Smithsonian in the 1970s and then competiting on the first USA international team that went to Australia in 1981 to beat the Aussies at their own game. Ali also was one of the major organizer of the USBA and served as the USBA President in 1984 as well as organizing the second Aussie/USA Challenge match (the Aussies won this one) that brought the best Aussies to the USA for Americans like myself to meet for the first time. Ali currently is an administrator at the Drachen Foundation in Seattle and is heavily involved in the promotion of kiting as a sport.

Ali never makes boomerangs for sale and almost never gives away any of the precious few that she has made. This "V" rang with a finger notch and an American theme was made in August 1980 (#13) and was presented to the Janetzki Brothers to commemorate the the 1981 USA-Australian Boomerang Challenge. It is signed by her as Ali Miller and also bears the signature of her husband and team-mate Steve Miller. This boomerang wa one of the Janetzki Brothers most prized possessions and a center piece in their boomerang museum. This boomerang holds a special place in the early history of American competition and belongs only in the most serious historical collection. There is a very slight compression damage on the tip of the dingle arm. The remainder hass a slightly soiled appearance because this one was thrown often by the Janetzki Brothers prior to their death.

Specifications: Right Handed ; Tip-to-tip Span = 35 cm ; Weight = 80 gm
