This is a matching pair of license plates (# 8945) issued by the Panama Canal Commission in the 1980s after the Panama Canal Zone Government integrated government officials from the country of Panama into a jointly run commission so that Panama could prepare to manage the Panama Canal Zone on its own. The plates are in new or almost new condition. It is possible that the commission had an excessive number of plates that were never used. The pair will look great when displayed on a wall.
