This vintage china bowl is from the Tivoli Hotel, located in the town of Ancon in the former Panama Canal Zone. This is the first generation of the Tivoli chinaware. They were made by Royal Doulton ( England ). The bowl has a serial number below the logo on the undeside (see the photo below). My grandmother lived in Balboa when the Panama Canal opened and she was a collector. of chinaware When she gave me these bowls in the early 1960s, she told me that they were used in the earliest days of the Tivoli Hotel. I have never seen any other china from the Tivoli Hotel with this early design. This bowl is in very nice condition with no chips or dings. There is crazing lines as expected and some of these lines appear in the photo below as a dark colored arc at the base This bowl has a green Tivoli logo and a gold rim with a floral pattern around the perimeter of the outer edge.

Diameter = 14 cm (5.5 inches) ; Weight = 172 gm (6+ ounces)

Most of the plates that I sell are vintage. It should be expected that these items will have some sort of wear or patina unless listed as "mint". Flaws created during the manufacturing may not be mentioned as these are part of the character of vintage or antique items. These flaws may, however, be mentioned if they cause a structural defect affecting the items integrity. I do provide large photos of each item so that you can see the condition. Thank you for your interest in this item.
